Class of 2023 Valedictorians/Salutatorians

Mount Olive High School is very excited to announce the Class of 2023 Co-Valedictorians and Salutatorian:

Anish Pradhan has earned the standing of Valedictorian for the Class of 2023
Claudia Sterling has earned the standing of Valedictorian for the Class of 2023
Tyler Campbell has earned the standing of Salutatorian for the Class of 2023

Anish Pradhan has earned the standing of Valedictorian for the Class of 2023

Anish is the son of Jeetendra Pradhan and Swetapadma Jena. He is the Head Mechanical Engineer and a Drive Team member for the MOHS Mort 11 Team. Anish is an Eagle Scout and Patrol Leader in Troop 156. Anish is President of the Math Honor Society, Captain of the Debate Team, VP of DECA, Secretary of FBLA, and participates in the Science League. He is a tutor, an instructor in TaeKwonDo, and an avid blogger. Anish has also won the following awards: Dean's List Semi-Finalist for FIRST Robotics, AP Scholar with Distinction in 2021 and 2022, NJ Governor's School of Engineering and Sciences Nominee, FBLA Business Management 1st Place North Jersey, and FBLA Management Information Systems 1st Place North Jersey.

Next Year Anish will attend Georgia Institute of Technology.

He will Major in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Anish and his parents pose for a quick pic right before Anish gets on the bus to school the first day of his freshman year at MOHS–look at that smile!

Claudia Sterling has earned the standing of Valedictorian for the Class of 2023

Claudia Sterling is the daughter of Ryan and Karen Sterling. While at MOHS Claudia has been a 4 year Varsity member and 2 year captain of the Cross Country Team, Winter Track, and Spring Track Teams and is the MOHS State Scholar Athlete of the Year. Claudia is President of our National Honor Society, our Leo’s Club, and Secretary of our Science Honor Society. She is also a member of our Math, English, and World Language Honor Societies and has been the Fund Raising Chair of our Environmental Club. Claudia has also attended the NJ Governor's School for Sciences where she was co-author of a research paper, won the Bausch & Lomb Science Award, earned AP Scholar with Distinction, and is a National Merit Commended Scholar.

Next year Claudia will attend Rice University where she will major in Computational and Applied Mathematics and Operational Research.

Tyler Campbell has earned the standing of Salutatorian for the Class of 2023

Tyler is the son of Heather and David Campbell. While at MOHS Tyler has participated in Lacrosse and MATE Underwater Robotics. He is the Captain of the Debate Team and is a Member of our Math Honor Society. Outside of school, Tyler is an avid golfer. He earned AP Scholar with Distinction, is a National Merit Commended Scholar, and earned the Zoetis Inc. Merit Scholarship.

Next year Tyler will attend Villanova University where he will study Political Science with the goal of one day attending Law School.

While in a spirited debate practice with partner and Co-Captain Anish, Tyler’s tooth was knocked from his mouth by a student who shall remain nameless (D.R.). Here is a picture of him and his family shortly after that fateful day:
