Best Buddies

In today's high schools, students with intellectual disabilities often share the same hallways as all the other students in the school; however, they are left out of social activities. Best Buddies ® is a nonprofit international organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities by providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships. The goal is to help make lifelong friendships, have some fun with people your own age, and to help others. Friendship meetings with your buddies can take place during school or after school hours. The only prerequisite for Best Buddies is the Commitment to working with one's buddy, patience and willingness to work with individuals with special needs and to have fun. If you are interested in joining Best Buddies, please email Nancy Gilbert at nancy.gilbert@motsd.org to request our Google Classroom code.
