Best Buddies

Best Buddies International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Best Buddies fosters one-to-one friendships between high school students with and without IDD. In this time of heightened social and emotional development that can be difficult even for teenagers without IDD, the Best Buddies High Schools program helps break through social barriers at an important time in a young person's life. The members share interests, experiences and activities.

In Best Buddies you can choose to be a Peer Buddy with a one-on-one match or an Associate Member with all the rights and privileges associated with the club. If you are a student with IDD, you may become a Buddy or an Associate Buddy. Each school year, at least four group activities are held for all members of Best Buddies. Lunch meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month.
